Daylight saving time ends this weekend, which means we turn our clocks back one hour on Sunday, November 5th. It is also a great time to perform some routine maintenance on your home and vehicle. Below is a "to-do" list to keep you on track:
• Replace Batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
• Check and replace your furnace filter.
• Clean outside gutters and downspouts.
• Bring out of storage your winter gear such as: winter boots, gloves, shovel, salt, sand, etc.
• Change your wiper blades.
• Clean out your trunk and leave a snow brush and winter safety kit inside.
• Install your winter tires: a good rule-of-thumb is to install your winter tires when the temperature drops below 7 degrees Celsius.
• Does your auto insurance rate include a winter tire discount?
• Top up your windshield washer fluid.
