A city in Halton Region at the western end of Lake Ontario, Burlington is part of the Greater Toronto Area. Located between the north shore of Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment, it sits near the geographic centre of the Golden Horseshoe, a densely populated region home to over 8 million people.
